With the current perfume industry being heavily dominated by large international and highly publicized brands, it is always pleasing to know that there still exists a discreet family-owned perfume house Perfume.

Founded in 1760 with the opening of the first shop by James Henry Creed, The House of Creed had begun a long and still continuing journey to produce the most luxurious of men’s and women’s fragrances. It soon became a favorite to Queen Victoria and the House of Creed were soon appointed as an official supplier to the Royal household. Creed eventually was adopted by all the courts of Europe, including Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie of France, Franz-Joseph and Elizabeth of Austro-Hungary and Queen Christina of Spain. In the year 1854, the House of Creed moved to Paris under the patronage of Empress Eugenie, where it established a solid reputation for the quality and exclusiveness of the fragrances.

Today the tradition and values of Creed are being continued by Oliver Creed, direct descendant of the founder James Henry Creed. Oliver Creed, Createur Parfumeur and President of the House of Creed continues this tradition, by personally selecting ingredients such as the purest rose essences from Bulgaria, Turkey or Morocco. Creed continue the manufacturing of essences with the traditional infusion technique, a process deemed too costly by other perfume brands and has become an extreme rarity in the perfume industry of today. Creed always look to use natural essences instead of synthetic ones, with synthetic essences having become a key element of the production process used by large perfume companies of the current time.

It is with keeping these traditional values and methods that a true family-owned perfume house still exists in an industry so heavily dominated with highly publicized brands. By maintaining such a high standard of product, Creed have attracted many famous and well respected customers. Although Creed has a long list of celebrity clients, Oliver Creed is not very keen on talking about them. Which can be seen as remarkable, with clients including Robbie Williams, Richard Gere, Robert Redford, Pierce Brosnan and George Clooney, all of which are reportedly big favorites of the Green Irish Tweed fragrance. With all the Creed Fragrances having attracted celebrity clients, the list is far too large for us to begin to appreciate. That is to appreciate the following the fragrances have attracted since it all began, back in the year 1760.
